Rang Juet - The Herb for Body Detox

In Thailand, Rang Juet (Thunbergia laurifolia) have long been used to reduce the risk of toxins, relieve heat, cover wounds and rashes, and lower blood pressure. 

The Thunbergia laurifolia is a popular ornamental vine in the tropics. The flowers are attractive with pale purple-blue petals and a yellow throat. The leaves are heart-shaped, with  pointed tips and slightly serrated leaf edges. In Thailand, T. Laurifolia leaves  are said to have a detoxifying effect. They are used as antidotes for toxicants and drugs, including the treatment of drug addiction. The plant has also been reported to have antioxidant, anti-diabetic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effects. A local herbal company manufactures T. laurifolia's herbal teas and capsules, known in Thai as Rang Jeud. Compounds isolated from the leaves contained derivatives of iridoid glucoside, grungefloric acid, glucopyranoside, and apigenin. Other compounds found in leaves and flowers were delphinidin derivatives and phenolic acids such as chlorogenic acid, caffeic acid, gallic acid, and protocatechuic acid. Review your current knowledge of  the pharmacological properties of the species. Validated properties include antioxidant, antibacterial, antiproliferative, hepatoprotective, anti-inflammatory, detoxifying, anti-diabetic, non-toxic.
